About the
Vortum range.

This is usually determined by your marine electrician who will carry out an appraisal on the appliances on board to be powered. However, in the instance of a re-power, the specifications of the existing generator can be matched.

Rodney Stevens Acoustics carried out a comprehensive sound pressure test on the Vortum unit at full load. The results of this test are available here.

All units in the Vortum range are saltwater cooled. The cooling package developed and fabricated by Zenith Engineering has been proven over 45 years in the commercial marine market. Both the manifold and heat exhchange are fabricated and put through a rigorous sequence of pressure testing to ensure there are no leaks before being installed on each unit.
This is dependant on the the Vortum model selected and all the details in relation to servicing requirements will be found in the Isuzu Instruction Manual. With regards to the raw water-cooling system, we recommend this be inspected for leaks and cleaned out if required every 12 months.
We recommend the installation of the units be carried out by a marine mechanic and any electrical connections must be done by a qualified marine electrician.

All our units are powered by Isuzu diesel engines.

Our Vortum range is an off-the-shelf product. However, if you require a bespoke build, we also work with customers on developing a marine generator that suits their requirements. Give the team a call to discuss your project requriements.

process.

Simply give the team a call on our “Contact Us” page.

We are aiming for the Vortum range to be an off-the-shelf product. Therefore, we are doing constant production runs of the range to keep up with demand.

The Vortum range is an off the shelf product, therefore we do not do modifications outside of the Optional Extras available. However, we do have a bespoke build team that works with customers to meet their requirements. Get in touch with our team to discuss your upcoming project further.
This is usually an easy process for us to work through with you. As we can spec the gensets to match the existing unit. However, new boat builds will require a marine electrician to specify the generator size to power the onboard appliances.
We have a dealer network of installers based all around Australia and New Zealand. This network has been installing our units for many years and thoroughly understands the process. Get in touch with our team to locate an installer near you.
The Vortum range is available to any vessel that runs 50Hz / 1500rpm.

Warranty is held as per the warranty statements by:

  • Isuzu Australia – Engine
  • Mecc Alte Australia – Alternator
We hold stock of all common spares in our facility located in Brisbane. This includes Isuzu and Zenith parts. All parts associated with the Isuzu engine are available through any Isuzu Dealer around the world.
We are always looking for reputable dealers in areas not currently covered by existing dealers. Get in touch with our team to see if you can become a Vortum dealer for your region.
